Meet Garry Denley
Garry Denley FREINZ JP Body Corporate Manager Lochore's Real Estate Ltd MREINZ
The real estate profession has been my passion since 1972, from marketing residential blocks of land in Western Australia to selling dairy/sheep or cropping farms in Canterbury to marketing and auctioning property in Auckland.
Working in real estate has given me the golden opportunity to interact with the community; both through the various community organisations with which I have been involved and with the many people I encounter in my day-to-day real estate business.
My working career commenced as an apprentice diesel mechanic in Ashburton. I then travelled to Western Australia, operating large machinery for an iron ore mining company. I continued my travels around the world before returning to New Zealand in 1973.
I have managed real estate businesses in Wellington, South Canterbury and Auckland and was appointed as the legal/licensing executive for NZ with the Real Estate Institute of NZ. This led to being elected to the National Council of REINZ for just on 10 years, including six years as Chairman of the Real Estate Industry Training Board. I was also awarded a Fellowship from the Real Estate Institute of NZ at the tender age of 39.
Early in my career, I was selected by Rotary International to join as a member of a Group Study Exchange tour to the Mid West of USA. In addition to my other community involvement, I am an experienced Auctioneer, Mediator, Arbitrator and a Justice of the Peace.
This background assists me with managing the Body Corporate division of Lochores, but more importantly working with Body Corporate owners to ensure the smooth running of their investment.
